Feelin’ a bit sluggish.

We’ve been working on the GP40-2 in all it’s various iterations for the better part of two years now. I ain’t going to lie, at times it can get tedious, boring, and there are times that you can get downright burned out. So what do you do when this happens? Build another model, of course!

This road slug was started back in April when there was a six-week lull in the action at a time when the GP40 pack was just starting it’s testing phase. It’s still a work in progress, with us adding a piece here or a feature there when we have nothing else to do. And before you start getting all excited, it is not a true GP30. The unit is a slug, and the only thing that it has in common with a GP30 is the body shell. Every thing else has been refurbished and rebuilt by a third-party locomotive rebuilder. Even the original control stand has been removed and updated with a more “modern” AAR stand.
