Over the last few weeks, you have seen pics of bits and pieces of the U30C in the actual simulation. This morning, the entire exterior was exported to the game. Click on the images to get a larger view.
The overall model in the game as a static fixture. High polys, but still good frame rates.
Trucks and underside detail. Still more to add here.
Front end. There is still much to do in the paint shed.
Notice the cab doesn’t have “nuclear glow”, which is grossly unrealistic and has been around since locomotives were first ported into Railsimulator.
Left side detail. A lot of primer-gray parts here.
A little closer up. The baking is much more evident on the side of the unit away from the sun or in the shadows.
Rear view. Trying to do something a bit different with the headlights.
The first buyers of the U30C got a U28 carbody with a souped up engine.
A bit of see-through in the Dynamic Brake intake area.
There are a few more small parts to be fabricated that will be placed as we go along, but now, the main push will be to get the locomotive painted and the cab view unwrapped and painted.
